Earlier in the week, the Media was awash with praises and gratification by the usual social media mob to Mukono Municipality MP Hon Betty Nambooze Bakileke who branded NRM promoter Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi a ‘useful idiot’ on a certain Television Talk show.
Nambooze’s claim was that Balaam is paid by the NRM regime to sell NRM propaganda and fish the so called big fish from the Opposition to the NRM winning side.
Indeed, remaining true to himself and the party he serves with so much selflessness, Balaam has succefully coerced the loudest, noisiest and predictable Opposition activists and politicians to the NRM winning side that it has left the skeptical Nambooze ilk at the mercy of defamation, character assassination and name calling because they no longer have anything substantial left to sell to Ugandans.
Betty Nambooze should be the last person to namecall any political player as her political allegiance over the years has been questionable and doubtable.
She smartly fits into the description of a political prostitute or better still, a political piglet like Balaam would later respond to her. Because she exploits entry into the fast mushrooming political platforms for her own selfish interests, the political winds have blown Betty Nambooze East West, West East until she is left with no political direction to cling to.
The Democratic Party (DP) under the stewardship of Hon Norbert Mao over the previous years identified Hon Nambooze and brought her to the political limelight where she has significantly shone especially in the Mukono and Kampala politics.
When political fame got to her head, Nambooze was quick to bite the hand that fed her by abandoning her mother political party that always had her back, joined People’s Government, a faction of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) where its self acclaimed president Dr Kizza Besigye had appointed her Spokesperson.
Nambooze has been an acquaintance of Dr Besigye and serving the interests of FDC other than those of her mother party DP.
Norbert Mao said Nambooze departure from DP was good riddance as she had nothing left to add to the party.
Soon the rising opposition political hurricane would cruelly sweep Hon Betty Nambooze away, leaving her a laughing stock with no political base, as she hopped from DP to People’s Government to People Power, the new political pressure group manned by another political novice Hon Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine.
Nambooze is swinging her uncertain tail to no direction because of the looming uncertainty 2012 general elections brings.
She believes hopping to People Power and firmly clutching her claws to their fictional ideologies will safely land her to the Mukono Municipality MP victory.
The country has watched her shamelessly prostitute from party to party as long it serves her imaginary interests, from one pressure group to another to being left without any ounce of personal dignity left in her.
Such a character therefore runs short of moral authority to defame Balaam whose role has been to diligently serve the NRM party and its Chairman with unrivalled allegiance, a virtue Betty Nambooze can only wishfully keep dreaming of.
