COMMAND POST EXERCISE: Uganda’s Contingent Tasked To Champion EAC Integration

The Defence Attache’ of Uganda to Rwanda Brig. Gen Dr. Emmanuel Shillingi urged the Ugandan Contingent that took part in the just concluded Command Post Exercise (CPX) “ Ushirikiano Imara” 2023 in Rwanda, to champion and deepen the spirit of East African Community(EAC) integration.

Brig. Gen Dr. Shillingi made the call while he and other senior officers of the Rwandan Force bid farewell to the Ugandan Contingent at Gatuna Boarder.

“We thank you for being good ambassadors during the exercise alongside other participants and urge you to champion and deepen the spirit of the EAC integration,” said Brig. Gen. Dr. Shillingi

Col. Jean Chrysostome Ngendahimana the Deputy Commandant Rwanda Defence Force Command and Staff College (RDFCSC) commended Uganda for conducting incident free exercise.

“Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces will always enjoy cordial relations for the common interests of its people,” Col.Ngendahimana said.

Brig. Gen. Stephen Kashure headed the Ugandan contingent, comprising of participants from UPDF, UPF, UPS, immigration officers and civilians attended a two weeks exercise from 14th -26th June 2023, together with other partner states for the 13th EAC Command Post Exercise (CPX), 2023,that took place in Rwanda at the RDFCSC Musanze.
