Armed Robbers Shoot, Injure Two People in Ntinda; Police Launch Manhunt

Police in Kampala are on the hunt for two armed men who shot and injured two people during an armed robbery in Ntinda, Kampala City, on September 22, 2023.

According to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy spokesperson of Kampala Metropolitan Police, the incident happened at around 8 p.m. at Riham Depot in Ntinda, and investigations into the matter are ongoing.

“The territorial police at Kiira Road police station are investigating a shooting that happened today at about 8:00 p.m. when two thugs riding motorcycles entered the Riham depot located in Ntinda and asked for money from one of the managers, Ssetunkuma. Unfortunately, he didn’t have the money and they ended up shooting him and fleeing with his phone,” Owoyesigyire said.

Owoyesigyire said that while the robbers were fleeing, they shot at a passerby who was rushed to the nearby hospital, and they are trying to establish the identity of the second person.

The police state that they will provide more details as soon as they are made available.
