MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS LAUNCHES A CALL CENTRE FOR IMPROVED SERVICE DELIVERY

In a Statement by Lt. Gen Joseph Musanyufu the Permanent Secretary on 24th June 2022 said that in a bid to improve service delivery to the public, they have launched a call center.

The toll free number (0800199003/4)  will be run efficiently and professionally by qualified staff  to provide information about services offered, status of different applications and also solve and handle customer feedback and complaints.

“This is one of the Ministry innovations to serve the general public better and also do away with whatever ever vestiges of corruption and misinformation,” Musanyufu said.

According to his statement the innovation will help the country tackle the security and issues like human trafficking which pose a national, regional and global threats to National Security and Development.

He said that the Ministry of Internal Affairs continues to innovate and devise ways to ensure that they facilitate illegal and orderly Movements of persons to and from Uganda, verifying residence of immigrants in the country, verifying and processing Ugandan Citizenship and enforcing National and Regional immigration laws for the development and security of Uganda.

According to the Permanent Secretary, the Ministry aims at achieving seamless service for clients which is vast for both Ugandans and non-Ugandans.

In the past, the introduction of the online services e-passport and e – visa has since lessened the bureaucracy for applicants seeking passport services and immigration facilities. Ministry Sources said that this has also reduced cases of bribery and corruption which existed in the manual system
