Murder rocks Kisoro ahead of christmas festivities

The Police in Kisoro District are investigating a string of murder cases that rocked the district as people prepared to enjoy their Xmas .

Elly Maate , Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman told media Dec 24th that 2 people were mysteriously killed in a space of two days in Nyakinama and Muramba sub counties.

Maate said that the first victim identified as Hakiza Alisen was killed in Taba village , Mbuga parish in Nyakinama sub county and was hit on the head with a stick by his grandson Nzaisaba Ivan , who was subsequently arrested a is being held at Kisoro Police Station under Reference Number CRB 1113/2018 .

Another victim was identified as Ndabereye Elyeese , a Rwandan national who was murdered in Kancheka village in Muramba sub county by unknown people .

The deceased was a causal labourer working in Muramba sub county and efforts are being done to find his relatives in Rwanda so that his body can be taken for burial, and this case was also registered at Kisoro Police Station under Reference number 1114/2018.

Maate however said that the assailants of the Rwandese National have not been arrested.

He however advised that people should remain security conscious during this period of festive season to avoid incidences of murder.
