Four Arrested Traffic Police Imposters Held in Kampala

Police in Kampala have arrested four people for allegedly masquerading as traffic officers in different spots within the city.

On Monday, February 27, 2023 during the weekly security press conference , the acting director of traffic and road safety, Lawrence Niwabiine said they have in custody four suspects who have been extorting motorists for long.

He warned all those impersonating traffic officers to stop now before they are nabbed.

Niwabiine cautioned motorists not to pay any money in cash, but in case of any traffic offense, one should be given a ticket where the money is paid in the bank within 28 working days.

According to police, EPS ticket can be paid directly on the consolidated accounts in any bank, or mobile money.

He noted that the police have enhanced their operations to crackdown on EPS defaulters across the country.
