The last such conference in Africa was held in South Africa.

The President also discussed the global push for the fourth industrial revolution, though he insisted that the gaps in the second and third revolutions in places like Africa must be plugged for proper development to happen.

According to Wikipedia, The Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) is the fourth major industrial era since the initial Industrial Revolution of the 18th century. It is characterized by a fusion of technologies that is blurring the lines between the physical, digital, and biological spheres, collectively referred to as cyber-physical systems.[1] It is marked by emerging technology breakthroughs in a number of fields, including robotics, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, quantum computing, biotechnology, the Internet of Things, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Blockchain, fifth-generation wireless technologies (5G), additive manufacturing/3D printing and fully autonomous vehicles.

The meeting in Davos continues to demonstrate the role of President Museveni in global economics visa vi East African region. The President has been praised and lauded by major scholars and economists for his progressive economic policies that have seen Uganda push for achievement of Middle Class Status by 2040 an achievement that looked unachievable for a third world country previously.
