Ministry of Works Launches Maritime Rescue Coordination Center

The Minister of Works and Transport Gen. Katumba Wamala has today 17th June 2022 launched Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre at Fisheries Training Institute in Bugonga Entebbe.

The minister also inaugurated the first ever Aeronautical maritime search and rescue committee of twelve Members from different Government agencies.

The committee is to ensure that search & rescue of travellers in Uganda both Air space and on water can be helped on time.

Since it is both an Air space and Water rescue mission, he was accompanied by Ms. Olive Birungi Lumonya the deputy director of Uganda Civil Aviation Authority.

In case of an Emergency on Ugandan Waters, citizens are advised to dial 110 for search and rescue.
