The Greater Bunyoro sub-region is hosting the Agriculture Expo 2023, aimed at imparting mindset change in farmers through encouraging a positive shift in farming perspectives, promoting suitable agricultural ventures, encouraging adding value to agricultural products, and providing insights into effective marketing strategies.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries (MAAIF), the farmers mobilisation, education, value addition, and service delivery campaign starts today on Friday, 6, 2023, in Kagadi District, Kibaale District on Saturday, 7, 2023, and finally ends in Kakumiro District on Sunday, 8, 2023.

The agriculture expo will feature an exhibition of quality coffee seeds, quality agro-inputs, new varieties, training on good agricultural practices, animal clinics, and plant clinics.

MAAIF states that these agriculture expos demonstrate the government’s dedication to connecting with local communities, fostering dialogue, and introducing ground-breaking farming methods.

Agriculture accounts for 70 percent of the country’s employment, according to the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS).
