Cabinet resolutions for sitting on 17 december 2018

On Monday 17th December, 2018 at @StateHouseUg Cabinet made the following #UGCabinetResolutions; It approved the Traffic & Road Safety (Amendment) Bill 2018. It’s objective is to strengthen the management of road transport & road safety in Uganda.

Enhance & strengthen traffic & road safety regulatory & enforcement; Improve the provision & management if road transport services. To harmonise the traffic & road safety law with the international, regional & national laws & protocols.

The approved Traffic & Road Safety Bill (Amendment) 2018 is to provide for the continuous technology innovations including ICT innovations in the transport services sector in the country.

Cabinet approved provisions of the Minamata Convention on Mercury & authorised the Minister of Foreign Affairs to sign, seal & deposit instruments of ratification in accordance with Section 3 of the Ratification of Treaties Act Cap. 204.
