A lot of social media commentators have attacked President Yoweri Museveni for appointing Musician Butchaman as a Presidential advisor on Ghetto issues.

The appointment of butcha came as part of a wider program and plan by the President to improve on the liveelihood of marginalised residents in Kampala’s urban areas.

Many have questioned the character of butchaman as that of a person incapable of being associated with the president because of his social status.

However, they are intentionally ignoring the fact that butchaman was Bobi wines number during his days as a musician.

The two were one and the same and always appeared in public together. They performed together and represented the ghetto.

However, the disabled artiste was abandoned by Bibi wine when he joined active politics and left to languish in poverty and oblivion.

It is hypocrytical that The same people who believe Bibi wine can become president, don’t think butchaman can be a mere advisor to the president.

Or is it a final admission by the people power group that their ilk is incapable of national leadership.

Whichever the case, the appointment of butchaman is a testament to the president’s commitment to uplift the lives of the less privileged.

The witch hunting is mere sour graping over what is a political master play by the President. Butchaman may be a low member of society, but he represents a large constituency that the president has rightfully tapped in.
