President Convenes NRM Parliamentary Caucus

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Parliamentary Caucus is set to meet this Thursday, April 20, 2023, to discuss issues of national importance, among which is the Anti-Homosexuality Bill.

According to a letter signed by the Government Chief Whip, Hamson Obua, dated April 18, 2023, the meeting is scheduled to take place at State House Entebbe at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.

According to Obua, the purpose of the meeting is to discuss, among other things, the Anti-Homosexuality Bill of 2023.

“The purpose of the meeting is to discuss, among others, the Anti-Homosexuality Bill, 2023,” the letter confirmed.

He asked the invited members to undergo a COVID-19 test on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Parliamentary Conference Hall before attending the meeting.

The Homosexuality Bill was passed by the majority of parliamentary leaders on March 21, 2023, and awaits the President’s signature to become law.
