Wakiso man held over possession of military attire

Police in Wakiso district have arrested one person for allegedly being in possession of military attire. Two other suspects are on the run over the same offense.

The suspect in custody has been identified as Arthur Kayima, a resident of Maganjo-Kawempe.

Kawempe police noted that the suspect is a known scrap dealer within Kawempe.

Those at large have been identified as Julius Musirise and Hassan, both residents of Sekyana Zone, Kagoma-Soweto in Kawempe, Wakiso District.

ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, said that the suspect was found dressed in a military uniform. He was also found with machetes, spears, and ropes.

The criminals were seen dressed in military attire while armed with machetes, spears, knives, and ropes. The residents suspected them and quickly informed police, who managed to arrest one, but two escaped, he said.
