After leading Celtic to two consecutive Scottish Premiership titles during his two seasons in charge, Postecoglou, 57, has joined Tottenham on a four-year contract.
He is Spurs’ fourth permanent manager since Mauricio Pochettino led them to the Champions League final in 2018-19 and follows Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo, and Antonio Conte.
“We are excited to have Ange join us,” Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy said on Tuesday.
He continued by saying that Ange plays with a quick, attacking style and a cheerful attitude.
Levy asserts that Postecoglou has a proven track record of growing players and is aware of the significance of the relationship between the academy and all of the club’s priorities.
This occurs at a time when Ryan Mason and Cristian Stellini are both serving as interim managers for Tottenham, who have been looking for a new manager since Conte left in March.
A fresh and determined Postecoglou arrives at Tottenham after winning a domestic treble in Scotland, where he has claimed five of the six trophies available to Celtic during his two campaigns with the club.
Along with Jock Stein, Martin O’Neill, Brendan Rodgers, and Neil Lennon, he is one of just five managers to secure a domestic clean sweep with Celtic.
Postecoglou has become the first Australian to manage a football team in the Premier League.
