Yesterday, March 29, 2023, while appearing before journalists for their first press conference ever since the MPs were released from prison, Hon. Mohammed Segirinya acknowledged how he has found massive development in less than one and a half years spent in prison.

“Kampala has changed; all you see are new buildings and flyovers, I felt like I have just come to Kampala from the village for the first time,” exclaimed Ssegirinya.

Ssegirinya also stated that Kampala is fast developing into a worldwide modern city.

Mohammed Ssegirinya and Allan Ssewanyana have been on remand at Kigo Prison on charges of murder, attempted murder, and aiding and abetting terrorism. The two MPs had been connected to the Machete wilding killers (Bijambiya), who had terrorized Masaka region for months after the 2021 elections.

The MPs who were released on bail on February 13, 2023, had not spoken out on their lives and time in prison, and it was their first time talking to the media more than a month after their release.
