Soroti Regional Referral Hospital has received and installed the computed tomography (CT) scan machine.

The machine is used to detect bone and joint problems like complex bone fractures and tumors, and it allows doctors to see inside your body. It uses a combination of X-rays and a computer to create pictures of your organs, bones, and other tissues. It shows more detail than a regular X-ray.

Dr. Wilson Etolu, a physician and consultant in the hospital, confirmed the installation of the above machine by the Ministry of Health. He says the machine is now functional and operational to serve patients.

“Our CT scan machine is now fully installed; this is a huge relief for our patients. Thank you, Ministry of Health,” said Dr.Etolu.

Soroti referral hospital covers the districts of Amuria, Bukedea, Kaberamaido, Kapelebyong, Katakwi, Kumi, Ngora, Serere, Soroti, and other neighboring districts.

Soroti Regional Referral Hospital is regarded by many as a center of excellence, especially for its committed staff, which recently performed complicated surgeries to separate Siamese twins.

Recently, there has been backlash on different social media platforms about the state of the Ugandan health sector, where some Ugandans expressed their disappointment about services in a few government-aided hospitals.
