Head teachers across the country have been asked to come up with safety committees which will help to close the gap between teachers , students and their parents in a move to end the rampant strikes in schools where property and lives are lost .
This comes after a wave of strikes were realized in West Nile Region and Aswa regions among others where students struck due to some petty concerns which would have been solved .
Deputy police spokesperson Claire Nabakka says once such committees are introduced , comprising of local council leaders , security leaders and education stakeholders , student strikes wouldn’t have happened.
She adds that teachers should again engage students in co-curriculum exercises such that they are not engaged in protests which end up with the loss of property and studies.
