Real Madrid thumped Chelsea 2-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday night and head to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, April 18th, with a two-goal lead and an advantage over their London rivals.

The loss was the second for Frank Lampard in less than 4 days after his loss against Wolves last Saturday, as he returned as Chelsea’s interim manager till the end of the season after the sacking of Graham Porter for poor performance.

Chelsea had the chance to take the lead, but Joao Felix couldn’t find the net in the 11th minute thanks to a great save by Thibaut Courtois to deny the visitors a lead.

Balon Dor winner Karim Benzima didn’t disappoint as he tapped in a Vinícius junior cross to make it 1-0 just in the 21st minute.

Chelsea’s luck seemed to have run out as their defender Ben Chilwell was given a red card in the 59th minute for a tackle on Rodrygo.

The 10-man Chelsea team couldn’t stand the pressure as the Galacticos scored the second goal through Marco Asensio in the 73rd minute, which seemed to be the last nail in Chelsea’s coffin.

Madrid returns to England in less than a week, and they are hopeful to defend their win and advance to the UEFA Champions League semifinals.

In other games played last night, AC Milan beat Napoli 1-0 at San Siro and will take a 1-0 advantage next week at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in the return leg against Napoli.
