President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has fulfilled his pledge of 20 new motorcycles to Boda-boda Associations in Nkumba Parish, Wakiso District.

The State House Comptroller, Jane Barekye, handed over the motorcycles to the beneficiaries yesterday June 20, 2024,  at an event held at Bendebere Village, Nkumba.

The beneficiaries included Nkumba Bufulu NRM Mobilizers Boda-boda Association (10 motorcycles) and Quarter Guard NRM Mobilizers Boda-boda Association (10 motorcycles).

During her speech, Barekye advised beneficiaries to make use of motorcycles to increase their household incomes and strengthen their associations.

She commended President Museveni in particular and the association members for their love of their nation.

In order to increase their productivity and raise household incomes, Barekye also promised that the President would assist local women’s groups involved in profitable ventures like dairy farming, piggery, mushroom cultivation, and poultry farming.

The patron of the two associations who is also the LC 1 for Bendebere Village, John Muhire, commended President Museveni for empowering the youths.

“These youths had nothing, but now with the empowerment by President Museveni they have been saved from loans, they will be able to save money and also help other members of the associations,” Muhire said.

Fred Mwanika and Gombe Kiyaga, the chairs of the Nkumba Bufulu NRM Mobilizers Boda-boda Association and the Quarter Guard NRM Mobilizers Boda-boda Association, respectively, expressed their sincere gratitude to President Museveni for the new motorcycles and promised to use them to improve their own lives, the lives of their families, and the lives of association members.
