The police have issued strict guidance to private security companies regarding personnel deployment on duties.

ASP Luke Owoyesigire, the Deputy Kampala Metropolitan police Spokesperson said that all area police unit must be informed by the Private security companies before deploying a personnel.

The advice follows last Sunday’s incident where two guns were robbed from two private security guards who were guarding a chicken farm in Mutungo zone, Lweza parish, in Wakiso district.

The duo was identified as Justus Nuweatuha and Operu attached to Gallant security Company.

Owoyesigire said that the police were not informed about the deployment.

Police have since placed Gallant Security Company under investigation to ascertain circumstances under which the guards were robbed.

“Private Security guards are directly supervised by the Police Department of Private Security organizations and firearms, currently headed by Charles Ssebambulidde,” Owoyesigire said.

He advised the Private security companies to first alert the nearby police station after successfully acquiring a rifle or when deploying armed or unarmed guards to their clients.
