Ugandan activist and founder of Makerere Community Church, Pastor Martin Ssempa has applauded President Yoweri Museveni for assenting to the Anti-Homosexuality Bill 2023 into Law.
Ssempa who also refers to himself as ‘Gabriel Baaba Gwanga mujje eri yesu’ while addressing the press at National Theater on Monday, May 29, 2023, rallied Ugandans to support President Museveni against the incoming foreign intimidations, aid cut, and travel bans.
He revealed that assenting of the bill into law will help protect Ugandan children and culture against corrupted western cultures that allows same sex marriages and relationships.
“We thank President Museveni for protecting our children, we thank him alongside our Speakers Anita Among, Thomas Tayebwa and the mover of the bill Hon. Asuman Basalirwa,” Ssempa said.
He added that the country needs laws that will focus on national development goals, yet sodomy is a destruction of civilization.
Ssempa asked Ugandans to stand with the President and other leaders to get rid of homosexuality in Uganda.
He also vowed to seek Uganda Police’s permission to be allowed to organize a match in support of Parliament, President, and Speaker for protecting the countries cultures.
“On Saturday we are going to be at Namugongo for Uganda Martyrs day, we want to show that whatever happens, you will not persecute us because of religion we are willing to die. Uganda Martyrs showed us the way. Nobody can sodomize us,” he emphasized.
President Museveni on Monday, May 29, 2023 executed his constitutional mandate as prescribed by Article 91 (3) (a) of the 1995 Constitution and assented to the Anti-Homosexuality Act, 2023.
The government has received foreign threats from United State of America of cutting aid and slapping sanctions on Uganda, and restricting entry into the US on people engaging in human rights abuses or corruption.
