The Ministry of Bunyoro Affairs in the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) has donated a rapid response vehicle to the ambulance service at Hoima Regional Referral Hospital.

The donation was made during the World Tourism Day celebrations presided over by the Prime Minister of Uganda, Robinah Nabbanja, at Boma playground in Hoima City on September 27, 2023.

Nabanja and the Minister of State for Bunyoro Affairs, Jennifer Namuyangu, handed over the ambulance to the facility administrators.

While at the function, Nabbanja said that this year’s World Tourism Day was dedicated to highlighting the need for more and better-targeted investments for people.

“Our country is indeed gifted by nature. Our tourism is largely nature-based, and this industry is one of the major foreign exchange earners for this country,” Nabbanja said.

She added that it’s important for Ugandans to pursue green investments and promote sustainable use of our natural resources for the benefit of current and future generations.

The Minister for Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities, Hon. Tom Butime, the Minister of State for Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities, Hon. Martin Mugarra, and the Minister of State for Public Service, Hon. Mary Mugasa, among others, attended the event.
