Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong, the Secretary General of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), led a distinguished delegation yesterday September 7, to the Communist Party of China (CPC) Gansu Provincial Academy of Governance in Lanzhou, China, as part of a key international visit.

Todwong emphasized the importance of ongoing education throughout this mission in order to adapt successfully to our fast-changing world.

“This delegation, composed of high-ranking NRM leaders and cadres, embarked on this journey with a clear purpose: to glean invaluable insights from the CPC’s cadre ship education system and apply these transformative lessons within Uganda,” Todwong said.

Todwong expressed the delegation’s steadfast commitment to learning from their Chinese counterparts and implementing these ideas back in Uganda with an air of enthusiasm and shared objectives.

“Our purpose here is to gain wisdom from your experiences and to apply this newfound knowledge in Uganda,” he emphasised, reinforcing their dedication to acquiring the wealth of knowledge present in China.

Todwong elaborated on the importance of cadre ship education.

“This form of education is of paramount importance; it instills theoretical discipline and empowers leaders to adapt to the dynamic societal landscape. We are here to absorb your wisdom,” Todwong added.

The CPC’s successful implementation of cadre ship education serves as a shining model that NRM leaders and cadres aspire to replicate.

Mr. Qin Weimin, the Deputy Director General of the Organisation Department of the CPC Gansu Provincial Committee, warmly responded to this collaborative attitude by affirming.

“We are fully prepared to share our knowledge with you so that you can successfully apply what suits your particular circumstances in Uganda,” Qin stated.

The generous dedication to sharing knowledge fostered the cooperative mood throughout the tour.

The NRM delegation engaged in a comprehensive exchange of ideas with their Chinese hosts, diving deep into the intricacies of the cadre ship education system and its practical applications in political leadership and governance.

This diplomatic effort aimed to not only strengthen the bonds between the two nations but also promote harmonious collaboration in the domains of leadership and education.
