Napak: Police Arrest Man for Allegedly Defiling 3-year old

Police in Apeitolim, Napak District, arrested 18-year-old Michael Okia on August 2nd, 2023, for allegedly defiling a three-year-old girl, which occurred on July 30, 2023, at round 4 p.m. at Locwae village, Apeitolim Parish, Apeitolim sub- county, Napak District.

According to IP Longole Mike, the Moroto ASTU, based on the intelligence, the suspect was believed to be hiding within the same locality where he committed the crime and was arrested from his hideout.

“The police investigators have visited the scene, gathered vital evidence to support the charge against the suspect and once the investigations are completed, he will be arraigned in court to face justice,” Longole said.

Longole further added that the parents left the girl alone at home to attend prayers, where the suspect took advantage of the situation and defiled the girl.

“We appeal to all parents to prioritize the safety and well-being of their children, it is crucial to avoid leaving little ones unattended and instead entrust them to the care of a responsible person whenever they need to leave home and this will significantly reduce the risk of harm and protect our children from potential dangers,” Longole said.

The police have asked the public to work together to create a safe environment for the young ones, where their innocence and well-being are protected at all times.
