Museveni Appoints Prof. Muhwezi as MUBS Principal

President Yoweri Museveni has appointed Prof. Muhwezi Moses as the Principal of Makerere University Business School (MUBS).

His appointment is on a five-year contract term, effective immediately according to a letter dated November 3, 2024, and signed by the President.

Prof. Muhwezi, who has been serving as the acting principal since May 13, 2023, becomes MUBS’s second principal in its 28 years of existence, replacing Prof. Waswa Balunywa.

He holds a PhD in Public Procurement from the University of Twente, Netherlands, a Master’s in Public Procurement from Maastricht School of Management, an MBA in Accounting and Finance from Makerere University, and a Bachelor’s in Commerce.

Prof. Muhwezi is an active member of several professional bodies, including the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) and the COMESA Technical Committee of Procurement Experts.
