Ministry of Health Reinstates Dr. Byarugaba as Mulago Boss after Interdictions

 The Ministry of Health has restored Dr. Byarugaba Baterana as Mulago Hospital’s executive director after he was interdicted recently. Dr. Diana Atwine, the Ministry’s permanent secretary, announced the lifting of the prohibition in a letter dated June 21, 2023, as a publication from the State House Anti-Corruption is being awaited.

In September 2022, the Executive Director was indicted on charges of abuse of office, embezzlement, creating financial loss, and fraudulent false accounting.
