As part of easing business in Uganda and taking land services closer to land owners and users, the minister of lands, housing and urban development Hon Judith Nabakooba has launched a public online portal to help citizens anywhere to carry out search and receive instant land information .

The public portal will provide land information under KCCA MZO at a search fee of shs 10,000/- per search.

Minister Nabakooba says the initiative will assist the Ministry in securing land records and maps, records’ quality and management to create an easy audit trail of land transactions.

The technology will also make it easy to retrieve information regarding ownership at any time regardless of who is in office.

This will also enable business continuity in case of changes in human Resources hence improving service delivery and sustainability.

The system will also help Ugandans and save them from fraudsters as it will cut out the middle men thus reducing corruption and money exchanging hands for people to beg the public servants to offer the citizens services.

The ministry’s call centre using free line (0800100004) is already in place to respond to anyone that requires support or clarification
