MBARARA/KIRUHURA: Kyenshama Dam Construction Launched

The Resident District Commissioner of Mbarara District, Mr. Mbabazi Rogers has launched the re-construction of Kyenshama earth water dam located at Kyenshama III village, Kabushere Parish in Kashongi Sub-County in Kiruhura.

The dam is meant to cater for the livestock of Kiruhura and Mbarara people in order for their animals to have clean water as well as crop irrigation during the dry season.

The construction launch was yesterday, 21st April 2022 in Kyenshama at the border of Kiruhura and Mbarara Districts.

The general public was happy about the development and applauded the President upon the initiative as it will help solve the challenge of scarcity of water for livestock and crops during the dry seasons.

The projector contractor is Global International Services Limited a tune of Uganda shillings 10 billion. It is meant to be shared between Mbarara and Kiruhura Districts.

The contract is expected to last for a period of 18 months having started on 19th November 2021 and is to be completed on 19th April 2023.

The function was attended by area MPs from both Districts, the LCV Chairpersons for both Districts and CAOs from both Districts.
