The deputy coordinator of Operation Wealth  Creation -OWC, Gen. Sam Kavuma, has tipped journalists on the most effective strategies to make money and eradicate poverty among themselves.

Gen. Kavuma was on Wednesday, January 8, 2023, delivering a lecture of opportunity to over 600 journalists currently undergoing a one-week symposium on social transformation at Kyambogo University, Kampala.

He advised journalists to embrace mindset change and positive attitude towards the struggle to create wealth.

“I want to urge you, the young people, to observe conscious discipline. A society that lacks discipline is bound to suffer. There is no shortcut to success without discipline,” Gen. Kavuma said.

Highlighting discipline, patriotism, and pan-Africanism as the strongest pillars of the current government, Gen. Kavuma urged the journalists to appreciate government contributions towards wealth creation.

Gen Kavuma advised journalists to refrain from spending money on non-necessity items, invest in assets, and save the little money they earn.

In his closing remarks, Gen. Kavuma listed peace, security, and stability; infrastructure; industrialization; ICT; and media as key economic drivers.

President Yoweri Museveni Kaguta is expected to close the symposium on January 11, 2023.
