The police in Kagadi District have arrested nine people for allegedly violating regulations on wetlands. The suspects are all from Kisura and Nyakabumbe villages in Kagadi district. The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), in conjunction with the environmental police, has arrested seven foreign nationals in connection with illegal sand mining in Lwera Wetlands in Kalungu District.
