Bobi Wine Consultations are for Donor Accountability

Earlier this week, the leader of the People Power group at a press conference announced that he was going to embark on a nationwide consultation tour on whether to stand in the 2021 Presidential elections.

He made this announcement shortly after he had returned from his American tours where he raised funds to run his campaign and on which he occasionally announced and declared his intention to run for presidency of this country.

The fact that he has declared intention to consult his potential voters before making an official declaration is only one meant to be ceremonial and since he has already been given a go forward by those that matter most, the foreign donors.

This initiative is also part of a plan to hold early illegal campaigns before the official time meant for campaigns by the electoral commission.

This is meant to set him up perfectly and engage in violent running battles with police and authorities, a move that will help him gain media coverage and due accountability to his foreign donors.

If indeed his actions were genuine, he would not be laughing consultations but rather formalising structures to support his presidential bid and officially registering his entity as a party.

This consultation stinks of deception and I would not be shocked if he backed down and back tracked on his claim to intend to stand for presidency.
