Fred Ssembogo, Martine Mpanga and Steven Buchana in trouble over impersonating the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister (PM) Robinah Nabbanja has distanced herself from land grabbers in Bulenga-Wakiso, who are using her name in false pretence to steal people’s property. She has vowed to prosecute the impersonators.
This follows an outcry from victims who have been receiving eviction threats from impersonators with claims of having sold the land block 364 plot 6 and block 364 plot 291 located in Bulenga Trading Centre along Mityana Road, Wakiso District to the Prime Minister.
The impersonators identified as Fred Ssembogo (Bulenga chief land grabber), Martine Mpanga and Steven Buchana, all residents of Bulenga claim that the Prime Minister bought the land and wants the occupants evicted immediately. However, sources close to PM, said that she has no connection with the land in question.
She also directed that anyone using her name in false pretence should be arrested by Police.
“I don’t have any connection with the land in Bulenga because I have never made any purchases what so ever in regards to that matter. Therefore, anyone using my name in false pretence should be arrested by Police,” Nabbanja said.
According to local authorities, the original occupants are Bisaso Luyimbazi Fred son to late Bisaso Nelson, a resident of Nakabugo Parish and Kyato Andrew, a resident of Sumbwe Parish, both located in Wakiso Sub-County, Wakiso District.
Prior to the Prime Minister’s revelation, the main occupants claim that they have been receiving eviction threats from Ssembogo, Mpanga and Buchana who are claiming to be the owners of the land and that they sold it to the Prime Minister.
It should however be noted that, on 9th November 2021, Bisaso and Kyato appealed against the High Court ruling by Justice Godfrey Namundi of 14th July 2017 that ruled in favour of Senjovu and others. The case is still pending ruling by the Court of Appeal.
