While launching the conference on Thursday, the Minister of state for Foreign Affairs, Henry Okello Oryem  said that the move aims at promoting tourism within the East Africa.

“As a region, we need to promote East Africa as a tourism destination to the World but most importantly amongst ourselves to harness the potential of the sector and grow our economies.”

The conference will attract key players in the tourism sector in both countries and government ministries.

It should be noted that Kenya is Uganda’s number one source of market for tourists and Mombasa is a key destination for Ugandans.
