While making his latest address to the nation, President Yoweri Museveni declared that the fight against Covid-19 is a war and as such it would be dealt with accordingly. He also warned that convenience will have to be sacrificed if we a to stand a chance against the virus.

The declaration came after Trade Minister Amelia Kyambadde said that some ministry workers had no where to camp at the ministry premises and thus needed a daily commute to work. The Minister who attempted to put up a spirited fight for those looking to continue daily commutes however met a determined President who was not about to put the guard down at a crucial juncture in the fight against the pandemic.

The President however reminded the country that during the bush war, they slept in the bush unlike now when people have options to sleep on concrete and other built-up areas.

The President also encouraged other Ugandans to treat the Covid-19 precautions with the same same spirit if the country is to stand any chance of defeating it. He also cautioned Ugandans against aimlessly walking especially during curfew hours and encouraged them to stay home.

Many workplaces have setup temporary places of aboard for their staff to prevent spread of the virus.
