Ms Adyaka Nalibe, the FDC woman Mp has withdrawn two weeks to the polling day from the race due to failure of the Party to support her campaigns.

The FDC candidate has accused the FDC party of neglecting her during the campaigns and making empty promises to her.

“I only received Shs500,000 as support fund from them (FDC). Even my campaign posters have not been delivered, so I don’t have money to proceed,” Nalibe said.

Ms Nalibe said she had her strategies well laid, and that FDC party was going to win the election for the first time in Kaabong.

Mr Linos Lima the Karamoja regional elections officer acknowledge receipt of the withdrawal letter from Ms Nalibe, but said it lacked authenticity from her party.

“This notice is hereby made to unequivocally withdraw my candidature from the race and I don’t wish to contest in the aforementioned position and that my name should be struck off the list of nominated candidates to contest for the position of Kaabong District Woman Member of Parliament,” the statement read in part.

Kaabong District woman MP seat fell vacant after Ms Lily Akello crossed to the newly created Karenga District in July this year.

The FDC party has remained tight lipped on this issue and  information  from the corridors of the Najjanankumbi office claims that the Opposition party does not want to give this issue fame by commenting on it in media.

Ms Nalibe’s withdrawal means that the NRM candidate Ms Christine Tubo Nakwang wins the election unopposed
