8th Uganda Evaluation Conference to Focus on Accountable Learning, Innovative Practices

The forthcoming 8th Uganda Evaluation Conference will focus on accountable learning and innovative practices, which aim to drive progress in national development and climate resilience.

This was announced by the President of the Uganda Evaluation Association, Mathew Lubuulwa, while addressing journalists on Monday, August 19, 2024, at the Uganda Media Centre (UMC).

Lubuulwa said that the 8th Uganda Evaluation Conference is set to take place from August 19th to 23rd at the Uganda Management Institute.

“The Uganda Evaluation Conference 2024 is a significant event for advancing the field of evaluation. By focusing on accountable learning and innovative practices, the conference aims to drive progress in national development and climate resilience,” Lubuulwa said.

According to him, the goal of the conference is to establish a forum for stakeholders to exchange evaluation-related experiences and insights to help achieve national targets under the National Development Program III (NDP III) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Lubuulwa stated that the conference will also focus on how to move away from traditional accountability-centric evaluation methods and towards methods that put learning and impact first.

“This change is essential for promoting well-informed decision-making and enhancing the provision of project and program services,” he added.

The conference is running under the theme “Development with Purpose: Empowering Accountable Learning for Achieving Development Goals and Enhancing Climate Resilience.”.

The event is organized by the Uganda Evaluation Association (UEA) and the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), Government of Uganda.
