The United States secretary of state, Antony Blinken, and other top diplomats landed in Tel Aviv, Israel, today, November 3, 2023, to find concrete steps to address humanitarian gaps that have been caused by the ongoing Gaza war.

This is the second visit Blinken has made to Israel in a month to discuss how they can help the civilians who are stuck in Gaza with no water, food, or simple medical care.

“When I see a Palestinian child—a boy or a girl—pulled from the rubble of a collapsed building, that hits me in the gut as much as seeing a child from Israel or anywhere else,” Blinken told reporters before leaving for Israel.

“So, this is something that we have an obligation to respond to, and we will,” he added.

However, Blinken is scheduled to meet with Ayman Safadi, the foreign minister of Jordan, in Amman on Saturday.

Israel is violating international humanitarian law by bombing civilians and enforcing a siege on Gaza, said Safadi.

The Israel Defence Forces said in a statement that its jets, artillery, and navy had struck Hamas targets overnight, killing several militants, including Mustafa Dalul, a Hamas commander, and directing combat in the Gaza Strip.

The Gaza health authorities continue to say more than 9,000 people have been killed in the enclave since Israel began its bombing campaign, most of them women and children.
