Rusoke Elijah Martin, on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, was arraigned before the KCCA Chief Magistrates Court on charges of obtaining money by false pretense and conspiracy to commit a felony by the state house anti-corruption unit working with the Uganda Police Force.

He has been remanded until September 12, 2023.

Rusoke is part of a group that allegedly defrauded Kenyan nationals of USD 361,151, or approximately over UGX1.37 billion, from Kenyan investors who own a company dealing in the supply of electrical appliances for big projects in 2022.

Rusoke and others who are still at large allegedly presented themselves as members of the NRM Special Contracts Committee on Presidential Tasks, a non-existent committee claiming that the Kenyans had won a contract to supply generators in various hospitals that were allegedly under construction in the country.

On August 25, 2023 Kavuma Charles was also arraigned before the Nakawa Chief Magistrates Court on charges of forgery, intermeddling with the property of the deceased, obtaining false documents, and fraudulent procurement of a certificate of title.
