According to SCP Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson, Christopher Ali Bongonyonge, who is also the LC2 Chairman for Acumu Ward, Acholibur Town Council in Pader district, is accused of the aggravated defilement of his 15-year-old stepdaughter.

It is alleged that Christopher was jealous of the stepdaughter’s male friends and continuously accused the daughter of being in young relationships.

The suspect, a stepfather to the victim, returned home, picked up a panga, and accused the daughter of indulging in love affairs with boys in the village,” Enanga said.

He noted that Christopher went ahead and forced the victim to sleep in the same room with him; however, at around midnight, he woke up with demands to see her male friends.

“He woke her up and tasked her, to lead him to her boyfriend’s home. Along the way, the suspect dragged the victim to the nearby bush and defiled her, then returned home,” he added.

According to Enanga, this came to the attention of the police when the victim told her relatives and the matter was reported to Acholibur CPS in Pader district, who were able to retrieve the panga used to intimidate the victim. However, the suspect fled into hiding.

“We appeal to anyone with information about the whereabouts of the suspect to inform the nearest police unit,” Enanga said.

Aggravated defilement is a crime according to Section 129(3) of the Penal Code Act.
