President Museveni Receives ‘Order of South Africa’ Honor

The President of Uganda Yoweri K Museveni was yesterday, 28th February evening conferred upon the ‘Order of South Africa’ by his South African counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa at the state Banquet held at the South African’s  Presidential residence. 

His excellency the President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa here by confers the ‘Order of South Africa’ upon H.E President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for your steady leadership and strengthening relations between Uganda and South Africa. Your efforts in persuading the people of Uganda to host our combatants of South Africa during the most difficult times of our struggle for liberation became the strong foundation from which the increasingly warm relations between the two nations firmly rest,” the presentation read.

National Orders are the highest awards that a country, through its President, bestows on its citizens and eminent foreign nationals. The President as the fountain of honor in the country bestows these Orders and Decorations, assisted by the Director-General in the Presidency.

At the time of receiving the honor, President Museveni was on a one day official visit to South Africa on invitation by the South African President Cyril Ramaphosa where they discussed pertinent issues concerning the two countries.
