The NRM Secretary General, Richard Todwong has asked journalists to continue exposing non performing leaders and bring them to order.

Todwong made the remarks on Thursday, January 9, 2023 while lecturing a group of over 600 journalists on political ideology. The journalists are currently attending a Uganda Journalists Association (UJA) symposium at Kyambogo University on ensuring social economic transformation.

He also thanked them for exposing the corrupt leaders whose aim is to tarnish the government’s image and encouraged them to continue writing about them for the law to take its course.

“I would like to thank you journalists for exposing the bad or funny characters of leaders and bringing them to order. So continue holding them to account,” Todwong said.

The Secretary General urged journalists to work toward supporting transformation and combating corruption.

Todwong vowed and assured journalists that the government would continue to support Ugandans’ transformation.

He urged journalists to expose through their writing the barbaric culture of LGBTQ+ (homosexuality) that is becoming more diverse especially in learning institutions.

“The west is doing recruitment in schools and giving money to institutions to promote the vice. It’s so disheartening, and you need to expose and write about LGBTQ+ to have it curtailed,” he said.

Todwong also criticized the promotion of genetically modified foods (GMOs) by Europeans, citing that they are the major cause of increased cancer cases of cancer in Uganda. He added that the government will not support them and therefore called on journalists to join the government in the fight against them using their writing skills.

He said that journalists should aim at informing and educating the public about the different achievements of the NRM government and different government programs in order to ensure economic development of Uganda.
