Uganda to hold high level conference on land conflict

The Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development is set to hold a high level conference on land conflict.

The conference is being organized by the government in close partnership with the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development-IGAD and International Development Law Organization-IDLO.

According to an announcement from the Ministry, the conference is slated for 24th until 28th October 2022 at Speke Resort Munyonyo.

It will attract several key government dignitaries including Judges, Ministers, tactical staff from IGAD and East African community member states.

Judith Nabakooba, the Lands Minister noted that the conference is to generate concrete recommendations and policies to address land conflicts.

“The expected outputs include IGAD regional Agency on Land conflicts, peace and security, sustainable development, gender equality and climate change adopted,” Nabakooba said.
