21-year-old Female Arrested for Robbery After Allegedly Serving Private Guards Sedated Soft Drinks

Namuli Alima, 21 years old and a resident of Nankoma B zone, Bugiri, has been arrested by the territorial police in Busoga East Region and Bugweri Central Police Station for conspiracy to robbery after serving two private guards of Bugadde SACCO, Idudi Branch, with sedated soft drinks.

According to SCP Enanga Fred, the Police Spokesperson, the two private guards who were identified as Samuel Okalt and Alex Okwaja were served with mirinda fruity on September, 14, 2023 which made them fall unconscious and sleep off, giving her access to rob the SACCO.

“The suspect then escaped to her home village in Mayuge. She was later tracked down and arrested from Luba village, Lwanika sub-county in Mayuge district,” Enanga said.

Enanga added that the soda was submitted to the laboratory for further forensic analysis, and it was found that the soda was laced up with intoxicating substances.

The suspect is being held at Bugiri Central Police Station.
