Maj Gen Tukirwa highlighted the importance of ethical conduct and cooperation with local communities in achieving mission success, stressing humility, respect, and cultural sensitivity.
“You are not citizens of that country, so be problem-solvers in the areas where you are deployed,” Gen Takirwa reminded the troops.
“Discipline, patience, and commitment will see you through this mission,” he added.
Brig John Patrick Otongo, Commandant of the IPSO-TC, expressed confidence in the troops’ preparedness, stating, “It is my conviction that the training objectives have been achieved, and we, therefore, expect successful operations in the mission area.”
Brig Gen Otongo reassured the troops of their preparedness, saying, “You have all it takes to perform your duties in the mission area. As the International Peace Support Operations Training Centre, we wish you success in your mission and look forward to welcoming you back.”
He pointed out that the training was primarily conducted by UPDF instructors with support and mentorship from international partners, including the Global Peace Operation Initiative.
The ceremony was attended by Battlegroup commanders, senior and junior officers, as well as other military personnel.
