Uganda Rhinos Beat Tanzania to Advance to CECAFA U-15 Finals

Uganda’s Under 15 football team (Uganda Rhinos) has defeated the Tanzania football team in the semi-final of the ongoing Council of East and Central Africa Football Association (CACEFA) U-15 Championship.

The Uganda Rhinos won 2-1 to clinch a spot in the finals at FUFA Technical Center Njeru on November 13, 2023.

The first goal was from Abubakali Walusimbi in the 12th minute of the match, and another goal came from Samuel Mubiru in the 44th minute of the first half.

However, Feisal Juma struck Tanzania’s consolation goal in the 83 minute in the match.

Uganda has won all four games they have played, scoring an impressive 24 goals and leaking in just once.

In the final, the Uganda Rhinos will take on Zanzibar, who beat South Sudan on penalties 4-2 in the second semi-final of the championship.

The CECAFA U-15 final is scheduled for Thursday, November 16, 2023.

The Uganda Rhinos are the defending champions of the CECAFA U-15, which was last held in Asmara, Eritrea, in 2019.
