Security is on high alert after receiving information that National Unity Platform (NUP) extremists are planning nationwide violent demonstrations and riots beginning with Kampala Metropolitan from 9 March 2021 and expected to end on 17 March 2021 with the swearing in of Hon Robert Kyagulanyi as the President.

During the press conference in NUP Kamwokya office, Kyagulanyi called on Ugandans to invoke Article 29 of the constitution and demonstrate to claim his alleged victory in the 2021 presidential election which he alleges that Museveni cheated.

The organisers of these illegal demonstrations are mobilising the public using social media and leaflets with wording that reads “Time is Now. Join National wide protests to fight for our victory.
M7 Tajja Kulayira” printed by a one Ashraf from Miracle Center Arcade located along Nasser Road.

According to a secret source, Bobi Wine has been meeting NUP coordinators and telling them to mobilize all NUP structures up to village level. He further directed them to mobilize influential leaders in the church, market leaders, and school teachers with their wives and promised to send each group UGX. 500,000 by 14 and 15 March 2020.

While he entrusted this task with district coordinators, he retained the responsibility of mobilizing and briefing the four districts of Kampala, Wakiso, Mukono and Mpigi himself. He has invited the entire leadership structure in the four districts to come to his home in Magere. He later called on NUP leaders and supporters to come to Kampala for his swearing in on 17 March 2021.

The source revealed that he has bought several boxes of whistle (efirimbi) Vuvuzelas for those who will remain upcountry and the plan is for them to gather in towns and blow the whistles as the function will be taking place in Kampala. He has further assured them that their security will be intact.

To reinforce his violent plan B, Bobi Wine earlier recorded different audios in different languages that he intends to roll out secretly to his supporters any time. So far six audios are set to be released and two more are being recorded.

NUP Secretary General Lewis Rubongoya has rolled out payment from their foreign elements to a one Rashid Segujja, leader of a radical wing called “Bali Bali” criminal gangs.

UGX. 50,000 is being paid to different persons who will lead the violence. The group is mainly comprised of radicals from Kisseka market, Kamyokya, Bwaise, Ndemba, Kasubi and Clock tower among others.

NUP has also mobilized goons under their umbrella ’’Time in Now and “Bali Bali” criminal group to disrupt and stop President Museveni’s swearing in and to ensure security of his swearing in.

Protesters are to target fuel stations, arcades, blocking main roads leading to city, burning tyres, dismantle CCTV camera’s, attack Government vehicles, loot shops and houses among others.

According to Asp Luke Owoyesigyire Deputy PRO KMP, security has deployed strategically to counter such illegal acts and will continue with the vigilance.

‘’We want to warn the organisers of such unlawful demonstrations to desist from participating in any unlawful activities.’’

Owoyesigire says Police will not hesitate to arrest and charge in courts of law anyone, who will be found participating in these illegal activities.”
