President Yoweri Museveni has today paid a courtesy visit to the Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Mutebi on his call at the Banda Palace.

In a statement released by the President, he said,

“We held a cordial meeting where we agreed that all pending issues involving the kingdom’s property, land and financial arrears be resolved soonest. I thank the Kabaka for the hospitality extended to my entourage and myself”.

Some of the main takeouts from the talks include government paying arrears to the Buganda government accruing from its properties in the country like the Makindye barracks and those outside like Muteesa house in the UK. Part of these arrears are to be paid in the financial year 2019/2020 according to Buganda Prime minister Charles Mayiga.

The visit is a sign of the cordial relationship between the two leaders.
