The Uganda Police Force has disbursed security personnel country wide to ensure that the festive season is safe and peaceful.

According to the Police Force spokesperson SP Fred Enanga, Police has increased patrols, visibility and other security interventions that will run through Christmas and into the New Year to ensure that Ugandans remain safe to live, work and celebrate the holiday.

“This will help curb down the criminals, and ensure law and order in the country,” Enanga stated.

Enanga urged Ugandans not to be alarmed by the increase in number of officers and to cooperate with them, in order for the country to have a peaceful festive season.

“The public should, therefore, not be alarmed by the increased presence of police and military personnel on routine patrol. They are there to protect residents, shoppers and businesses,” Enanga said.

According to Enanga, Police anticipates high levels of criminality and indiscipline as the year ends and people celebrate crossing into the New Year.

However, he recognizes that so far, there is significant work being done by the officers deployed in rural areas.

The Police proxy calls upon anyone who sees anything suspicious wherever they are to alert the nearest security unit, LC, or call the emergency numbers on 0707600773 0776999136 or 0800199699.
