According to Chris Obore, the spokesperson for parliament, this strategic transfer of funds prioritizes critical infrastructure development projects essential for hosting prestigious sporting events.

“This approval signifies Parliament’s unwavering commitment to supporting Ugandan sports and athletes,” said Obore.

Obore further highlighted the significance of the 2027 tournaments, stating, “The CHAN and AFCON games present a golden opportunity to showcase Uganda’s sporting talent on the international stage. These allocated funds will ensure we are well-prepared to host a world-class tournament.”
