The NRM 1st National Vice Chairman Al-Hajji Moses Kigongo on Thursday November 21, 2024, launched the digitalisation exercise of the party membership register countrywide.

Al-Hajj Kigongo commissioned the exercise during the training of data centre supervisors at the Party National Secretariat at Plot 13, Kyadondo Road, Nakasero.

The launch was attended by members of the NRM Central Executive Committee (CEC) and officials of top management at the NRM Secretariat.

During the launch, Kigongo appealed to trainees to ensure a credible exercise in all the centres.

He cautioned the team against interfering in matters not related to their mandated roles, like soliciting money from politicians to make irregular entries.

“The party will bank on your work to ensure we get a clean and credible membership and voters’ register,” Kigongo said.

Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong, the Party Secretary General said the dispatched teams are required to commit even longer hours to deliver a credible exercise.

According to Todwong, the activity shall include ridding the register of deceased members, those who relocated to other areas, or those who joined other political parties, as well as welcoming those who are joining the NRM.

“I implore you to take this exercise very seriously. It requires due diligence to ensure that eligible members are not left out,” Todwong said.

The Director of Finance and Administration, Hajjat Medina Naham, reiterated that the party register will be very important in delivering free and fair internal elections ahead of the 2026 general elections.

She added that an updated register will overcome the chaos and bickering of party members during our primaries.
